The Department of Computer Science and the Institute of Visual Computing (IVC) are glad to welcome a visiting researcher from our project partner in Croatia.Mirela Kundid Vasić
Mirela Kundid Vasić is a third year PhD student at the University of Split, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture. Her main research interest is human detection in aerial images using deep learning algorithms for supporting search and rescue operations.
Mirela is on a research stay at the Institute of Visual Computing within a bilateral project between the University of Split and Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg named SmartBots – Autonomous control of mobile robots using computer vision algorithms and modern neural network architectures. Project leaders are Prof. Dr. Rainer Herpers, Prof. Dr. Paul Plöger (both Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg) and Prof. Dr. Vladan Papić (University of Split).
She is working on project activities at H-BRS from 10 February to 28 February 2020.
