SimuBridge at didacta 2016

For the third time in row our Research & Development Project “SimuBridge” (Systems’ Simulator Controlled by a Generic PLC as an Innovative Learning Concept) will be presented on the trade fair for education and training didacta 2016, which will take place on 16 – 20 February 2016 in Cologne.

Didacta is the world’s leading international educational fair with an extensive (education) programme for teachers, educators, trainers and educational staff. Together with the company FELTRON, Timur Saitov (Institute of Visual Computing) has developed an innovative learning concept for real-time simulation of programmable logic controllers called “SimuBridge”. With the actual project successfully completed in 2015, the simulator is now part of a training module for future PLC programmers. The construction of the simulator mainly focused on realistic simulation of the devices themselves as well as their electromechanical characteristics and responses to actual control signals.

This year’s novelty: a universal I/O adapter for Arduino/Genuino which is compatible with Uno, Leonardo and Yun boards. Thus, the open source project Arduino is now compatible with the 24V-world of automation.

Didacta is the world’s leading international educational fair with an extensive (education) programme for teachers, educators, trainers and educational staff. The “SimuBridge” project’s objective is to develop a generic visual simulator of devices, systems and industrial plants, independent from a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) vendor. This simulator platform will be part of an innovative learning concept for PLC programmers. The platform consists of a conventional PLC, a special i/o adapter, and a PC. The visual system simulator contains a PC software part and offers a number of training tasks.

As the biggest international trade fair for education and training it provides offers from over 900 exhibitors and a comprehensive further education programme for teachers, educators, trainers and educational staff The “SimuBridge” project’s objective is to develop a generic visual simulator of devices, systems and industrial plants, independent from a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) vendor. IVAB at Hannover Messe 2013

Between 8 and 12 April 2013, we presented the current progress in our IVAB project (High-Quality Rendering in the Planning of Prefabricate Houses) at Hannover Messe, the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology. Located in the German Pavilion (Bonn R&D) visitors could experience realistic illumination of their possible future homes under dynamic lighting conditions.

FIVIS at Bonner Wissenschaftsnacht

The FIVIS bicycle simulator will be presented at “Bonner Wissenschaftsnacht” (Night of Science in Bonn) on June 15th. The simulator will be in the “Säulenhalle”, a part of the main building of the University of Bonn, and can be tried between 6pm and midnight.

FIVIS auf dem Museumsmeilenfest 2012 in Bonn

Vom 7. bis zum 10. Juni wird FIVIS im Deutschen Museum in Bonn sein.

Beim diesjährigen Museumsmeilenfest wird das FIVIS-Projekt unter dem Motto: »Fahr Rad!« – ein buntes Familienprogramm rund ums Radfahren in Bonn ausgestellt. Der Simulator wird im Deutschen Museum Bonn zu sehen und auszuprobieren sein.
Interessierte Besucher können das virtuelle Siegburg per Fahrrad erkunden. Die Ausstellungszeiten sind

FIVIS at Linzer Auto Frühling in Austria

The new FIVIS system will be shown in Austria at the Linzer Auto Frühling in march of 2012. The system can be viewed and tried on March 16th from 10am – 5:30pm, on March 17th from 9am – 6pm and on March 18th from 9am – 6pm.
